Founder and Chief Executive Officer
An outstanding example and supporter of American entrepreneurialism, Tariq Farid is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Edible Arrangements International, the pioneer and worldwide leader in high quality, artistically designed fresh fruit arrangements. He is also Founder and CEO of Naranga.
The first Edible Arrangements® franchised location opened in 2001 in Waltham, MA. The company has since grown to more than 1,200 stores worldwide, and Tariq’s personal support for franchisees has been a hallmark of the Edible Arrangements® success story.
The same year Edible Arrangements® opened its first franchise, Tariq founded Netsolace, Inc., a computer software distributor for the franchise industry. A self-taught computer whiz, he designed all the computer systems Edible Arrangements® franchisees use in their day-to-day operations, including order processing, training manuals, production and profitability tracking, and supply chain management.
In 2014, Tariq acquired software provider Emaximation and rebranded the company as Naranga, which provides a wide range of technology solutions that he used at Edible Arrangements to help franchise companies market themselves and manage their operations.
Tariq was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA) in 2009. More recently, he was elected to the IFA Board of Directors. Tariq has been designated a Certified Franchise Executive by the Board of Governors of the Institute of Franchise Executives. He was inducted into the Connecticut Immigrant Heritage Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Junior Achievement of Southwest New England’s Business Hall of Fame in April 2016. In June 2016 he was honored with an Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award.
Chief Operating Officer
A technology executive with 19 plus years of expertise managing software application development and client services/professional services initiatives coupled with hands-on experience in designing and developing application tools. Responsible for facilitating effective communication bridges between the business, sales and development teams leading to innovative solutions to achieve critical company objectives.
Prior to Naranga he worked for Velti (a multi-national leader in the mobile marketing space), where he led all aspects of project management, client relationship management, professional services management and client support management and delivery. Faraz has also worked in the IT Consulting space where he held various leadership roles and in the online marketing space creating systems that built online user loyalty (notably for the Official NASCAR Membership Club).
Faraz holds a BA in Management Information Systems from Pace University and an MBA in International Business from Fairfield University. In addition, Faraz holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Vice President, Sales and Marketing
A technology executive with more than 20 years of experience, Duffield is focused upon expanding company awareness, sales, marketing and strategic partnerships at Naranga. Duffield’s career is deeply rooted in assisting early stage companies with developing a solid go to market strategy. His expertise is helping shape the company’s strategic sales and marketing vision.
Prior to Naranga, Duffield was the Vice President of Channel and Strategic Alliances, North America for Lincor Solutions, where he assisted with the initial launch of the company’s new headquarters and market penetration in the U.S and Canada.
